The Nezu Museum

Along with catalogues of special exhibitions, museum collection, annual bulletins, a variety of original goods are on sale, based on worlds of art held at the Nezu Museum. Core of the original goods are based on the image of national treasure Irises screens. Stationaries based on the Nezu Museum mascot, Double-Ram Zun bronze ware from ancient China are also popular.

Desk Calendar 2025: ¥1,100

This is the definitive, concise handbook to understand "Kohitsu-gire," the detached segment of ancient Japanese calligraphy. We have carefully selected 85 works from the Nezu Museum's collection to fully display the beauty of ancient handwritings, ranging from 8th to 14th centuries. This edition includes 34 pieces from the current exhibition, including the newly acquired "Koya-gire," an Important Cultural Property, exhibited for the first time.

"Kohitsu-gire" (88 pages): ¥1,200

The "Koya-gire", an Important Cultural Property on display for the first time at this exhibition, is considered "the best kana script" of Japan. The light and spontaneous lines of the brush have been reproduced on postcards.

The 101 items have been carefully selected from among more than 400 archaeological artifacts in the Nezu Museum's collection, ranging from bronzes such as the well-known “Double-Ram Zun” in Gallery 4 to mirrors, jade objects, and metal objects known only to those in the know. Many of the pieces are being introduced with commentary for the first time. All of the works are accompanied by English descriptions.

Kakitsubata(Irises) Scent Box: ¥16,000

This Paulownia-wood box with apertures in the form of an N and M, the Museum's initials, has kakitsubata (Japanese irises) hand-painted on it by a Yuzen kimono craftsman. Slide out the lid lining to open the apertures and the sweet, gentle fragrance from the sachet inside will drift out. The kakitsubata design is based on Ogata Kōrin's Irises folding screens, a National Treasure, in our museum's collection. Enjoy this lovely scent box and the fragrance it adds to your life.

3 notebooks made with hand-made Japanese paper, washi, bound with linen cord in traditional Japanese style, are neatly stored in a wrapper box featuring “Irises” screen. Each notebook has cover in blue, green, and gold. They are reminiscent of vivid colors of the National Treasure screens now on display in Gallery 1.
