The outer surface of the lid of this inkstone box was made by the famous carved metal craftsman, Tsuchiya Yasuchika. The inner surface of the lid was the work of the famous makie craftsman Ogawa Haritsu. This is a rare and valuable example of two mid Edo period master craftsmen collaborating on a work.
