Flower Vase with Handles in the Shape of Elephant Heads

There are many examples of Chinese bronzes from the Song dynasty through the Qing dynasty that have been used in Japan as flower vases. This work was used as a flower vase at a flower exhibition held in 1665. This flower vase was owned by the Tokugawa shogunal family.
