The Nezu Museum (“the Museum,” “we,” “us,” “our,” etc., hereinafter) is committed to take the following measures to protect visitors’ privacy in handling the information collected through use of websites the Museum operates.
“Personal information” refers to information so defined by the Act to Protect Personal Information, i.e., information concerning living persons. It pertains to an individual’s name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, and other information that be used to identify a specific person.
The Museum collects personal information about the visitor when selling a timed-entry ticket for an exhibition, making a reservation for the visitor to take part in an event, or responding to inquiries. At that time, before collecting that information, we announce or inform the visitor, of the purpose for which the information is being collected, through legal and fair means. Personal information is, as a rule, acquired from the person in question.
The Museum uses personal information only for the purposes that are stated when it is collected and only as necessary for carrying out those operations. If we entrust the handling of personal information to a third party, we will enter into a confidentiality agreement with that third party, making its responsibility clear, and carry out the necessary and appropriate oversight for secure management of personal information.
The Museum does not provide personal information to third parties except in the cases listed below:
The Museum will maintain the accuracy of personal information, and, following the relevant laws and regulations and other standards, will manage it securely. The necessary data security measures are taken to prevent leakage of, damage to, or loss of personal information.
Upon request from the visitor himself or herself to disclose, correct, cease use of, or delete of his or her personal information, the Museum will respond promptly. (We may confirm the identity of the requestor before responding to such requests.)

The Museum may update its privacy policy as needed. Such updates go into effect when the updated information on our privacy policy is placed on the Museum’s official website (www.nezu-muse.or.jp).
